BUCKSPORT – Gwendolyn L. Tracy of Bucksport has earned medical assistant certification by passing the American Association of Medical Assistants examination on Oct. 26. She is a graduate of the medical assisting program at Beal College in Bangor and is employed at Bangor Family Medicine in Bangor.

The certified medical assistant examination tests clinical and administrative knowledge needed for competent medical assisting practice.

More than 387,000 medical assistants work in the United States. The field is projected by the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics to be one of the fastest-growing occupations through the year 2014.
