Rossignol’s 32 sparks Vikings past Fort Kent

CARIBOU – Jarryd Rossignol erupted for 32 points, including six 3-point goals, as Caribou surged past Fort Kent 86-58 in a schoolboy basketball matchup Wednesday evening.

Backcourt mate Kyle Corrigan added 27 points for Caribou, which earned its eighth consecutive victory.

Matt Harvey led Fort Kent with 13 points, while Corey Voisine and Adam Bouchard scored 12 points each.

At Folsom Gymnasium in Fairfield, senior center Ryan Weston scored a game-high 23 points and Bangor’s defense limited the Lawrence Bulldogs to just eight field goals.

The win was the 13th straight this season and 23rd consecutive win overall for unbeaten Bangor, the defending Class A state champion.

Senior guard Jon McAllian added 12 points and five assists for the Rams.

Max Haney led Lawrence with nine points.

At Howland, junior point guard Casey McCloskey set a Penobscot Valley schoolgirl record with 48 points in the Howlers’ victory.

McCloskey had three 3-pointers and a 7-of-7 effort at the free-throw line en route to her career best, which topped a 27-point outing earlier this season.

McCloskey also had 18 steals and 10 rebounds.

Kirstie Dawson added 12 points for Penobscot Valley.

Abby Landmessek and Kylie Jettinghoff each had eight points for Searsport.
