DYER BROOK – Evangeline Goodall netted 14 points as the Southern Aroostook girls basketball team took a 12-point lead into the fourth quarter and held on for a 50-44 victory over Greater Houlton Christian Academy Thursday night.
Liz Goodall and Brittany Charette each chipped in with nine points while Liz Bergan grabbed 11 rebounds for the Warriors.
Sarah Riopel and Kasi Parker each posted 17 points to pace Greater Houlton.

At Bangor’s Sawyer Arena, junior left wing Johnny Warren notched his first career hat trick and sophomore center Noah Frost scored his first varsity goal as the Rams rallied for four third-period goals to beat Lawrence of Fairfield.
Bangor improved to 6-6 while Lawrence fell to 5-6-1.
James Banks’ first-period goal off a two-on-one with Devon Belanger and Andrew Englehart’s second-period tally staked the Bulldogs to a 2-0 lead. Englehart swept home a loose puck after Belanger lost it off his stick.
But Warren converted a Joey Seccareccia pass just 41 seconds into the third period and Frost tied it with 4:59 remaining as he one-timed a Chad Kelley pass between the pads of Lawrence goalie Chris Caron.
Warren broke the tie 1:16 later off a Phil Frost pass from behind the net.
Warren took a stride and wristed a 20-footer past Caron to into the short side corner on the blocker side.
Warren capped it with a shorthanded empty net goal moments after Seccareccia dove out to block a Bulldog shot from the point.
Andrew Riley finished with 17 saves for Bangor while Caron wound up with 20.

At Mars Hill, Cameron York tossed in 18 points and Manny Martinez 17 as the Panthers rolled to the victory.
Logan McCarthy chipped in with 11 points for Central Aroostook, who had 10 players figure into the scoring column in a balanced effort.
Lucas Craig’s 12 points paced Katahdin of Stacyville.

At Dexter, senior center Gavin Cote led a balanced attack with 13 points and 12 rebounds as the Tigers earned their 10th win of the season.
Rick Stewart added 12 points for 10-4 Dexter, while Ethan Woodman added 10 points, Nathan Peirce had eight points and eight rebounds and Chris Eastman contributed eight points and six rebounds.
Cory Barnett led Stearns of Millinocket with a game-high 15 points. Charlie Osborne added nine points for the 6-8 Minutemen, while Tyler Richards had six rebounds and three blocked shots.
Dexter led 26-20 at intermission, but quickly extended its lead to double digits by forcing eight Stearns turnovers during the third quarter. The Tigers held a 44-30 lead entering the fourth quarter and extended that margin to as many as 20 points in the final minutes.

At Lubec, Shane McPherson netted 20 points and grabbed 18 rebounds to spark Lubec by Islesboro.
Chris Grant was the Hornets’ high scorer with 21 points while Matt Rice tallied 10 points and 15 rebounds for the winners.
Islesboro was paced by D.J. Johnson with 21 points. Jason Hatch added 15 points for the Eagles.
