Stanley Harrison of Sedgwick should be appreciated for his factual information and outlook on the Israel-Palestine conflict (BDN, Dec. 26) “Jerusalem ethnic cleansing.” It is a rare communication in our biased U.S. media that presents a true and fair coverage of the conflict. U.S. newspapers provide a continuous flow of pro Israel propaganda that never presents the occupation of Palestinian lands, the bully tactics of the Israel military, the deaths of Palestinians and the strong peace movement of many Israeli citizens.

There has always been a large group in Israel and the U.S. that has attempted to fairly work with Palestinians for resolution of the conflict. Before I received alternatives to violence training and participated as a peacekeeper at a meeting between Jewish and Palestinians, my knowledge and understanding of “Arabs” was that they were throat cutters, evil and not to be trusted.

Israeli citizens do not support Israeli policy with Palestinians, especially the continued development of settlements. Readers of the BDN may well be better informed about their own nations’ foreign policy if they considered a way to dialogue about U.S.-Israel policy.
