L.L. Bean car charging units recalled

The following recalls have been announced:

. About 3,900 car charging units included with L.L. Bean Airbeds and made in China. The unit’s batteries can overheat when the car engine is running, causing the battery charging unit to burst. This can pose an injury hazard to consumers. The product’s importer, The Wenzel Co., has received one report of the batteries in the car charging unit overheating and the unit bursting. No injuries or property damage have been reported. The recalled product was included with L.L. Bean Raised Insta-Beds and was sold at L.L. . About 14,000 hooded jackets for girls, manufactured in Korea and distributed by AJBlue LLC, doing business as Apollo Jeans. The jackets are recalled because they have a drawstring through the hood, which could pose a strangulation or entrapment hazard for children. No injuries have been reported. . About 200 sterling silver baby teethers featuring heart and car shapes, manufactured in Mexico and imported by Elegant Baby and Baby Needs Inc. The heart and car shapes decorating the inside of the teething rings can break off. This poses a choking risk. The company has received one report of a heart breaking off and becoming lodged in a baby’s mouth. . About 15,000 Baby Einstein Baby Neptune Soothing Seascape crib toys, manufactured in China by Kids II Inc. The anchors on the straps that attach the aquarium-bodied turtle to the side of a crib can detach. This poses a choking hazard. The company has received 23 reports of broken anchors, but no reports of injuries. The toys were sold at discount department stores and Web retailers around the country between November 2007 and January 2008.
