Tom Judge, executive director of LifeFlight of Maine, has been given a two-year appointment to the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Emergency Medical Services advisory council. Judge has received national and international recognition for his work with EMS and has taken the lead in organizing LifeFlight of Maine since its inception. “I’m eager to share the work I’ve been part of in Maine that has produced our Maine Trauma System and brought EMS providers from all over the state together as a functioning team,” he said. “I’m proud to represent my colleagues in Maine and the air medical service across the country on this council.” LifeFlight of Maine is a nonprofit critical care helicopter service that operates statewide. Its two helicopters are based at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor and Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.
