Two teenagers were summoned Wednesday night in Orono after police found marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle they were in.
Police were called around 8 p.m. when someone noticed that the teens’ car had been in the same spot on Marsh Lane around the same time for several days in a row, according to Orono police Capt. Josh Ewing.
The officer noticed the smell of marijuana and the occupants, Lucas Cartwright, 18, of Veazie and a juvenile from Glenburn admitted that they had been smoking, according to police.
They handed over a bag containing a usable amount of marijuana, a glass pipe and an empty 12-ounce soda can that had been modified for use as a pipe, according to the police report.
When asked whether they had anything else in the vehicle, they gave the officer a paper bag with three more pipes inside. When asked again, they produced a 16-ounce can that also had been modified, according to the report.
“Both agreed that the drugs and paraphernalia belonged to both, not just one of them,” Ewing said.
The teens were issued summonses for possession of drug paraphernalia and a usable amount of marijuana. They are scheduled to appear Feb. 28, at Bangor District Court. Police called the juvenile’s mother and she sent someone to pick up her son. (Aimee Dolloff, BDN)
