At Blue Hill, the George Stevens Academy Eagles sank 9 of their 12 free-throw attempts in the fourth quarter to win a back-and-forth contest which had six lead changes in the last four minutes.

Nick Saunders paced the Eagles with 20 points and nine rebounds while Rashad Frazier scored 11 and grabbed eight boards. Adam Jordan hit eight free throws and scored 10 points and Ebb Walton added 10.

Ben Teer scored a game-high 26 points for Washington Academy of East Machias while Noah Von Rotz tossed in 19.

At Brewer, guard Kyle O’Connell scored all 12 of his points after intermission as the Witches rallied from a 13-point third-quarter deficit to earn their fourth consecutive victory.

Lawrence of Fairfield led 27-14, midway through the third period, but Brewer outscored the Bulldogs 11-2 the rest of the quarter, with O’Connell making a 55-foot 3-pointer at the buzzer to draw the Witches within 29-25.

O’Connell made seven of eight free-throw attempts in the fourth quarter, and Brewer took the lead for good at 38-37 on a late basket by sophomore center Nate Carson. Carson then blocked a 3-point attempt by Lawrence’s Matt Perkins in the final seconds.

Bill Bissell added nine points and Dom Drake eight for Brewer. Perkins scored 11 points and Wes Sexton 10 for Lawrence.
