A University of Maine student reportedly left his dorm room on the Orono campus unlocked for just 10 minutes Monday afternoon.

When he returned to his room in Knox Hall about 12:40 p.m., all of his roommate’s “toys” had been stolen, he told campus police.

The burglar took a laptop computer, a television, an iPhone, a PlayStation 3 and a wristwatch, UMaine spokesman Joe Carr said.

“The message is never leave your dorm room door unlocked,” Carr said.

He urged anyone who might have information about the theft to call the university’s Department of Public Safety at 581-4040. (Judy Harrison, BDN)
