Pelletier propels Owls Madawaska wins behind late rally

FORT FAIRFIELD – Madawaska outscored Fort Fairfield 7-3 in the final minute Monday night to earn a 45-41 girls basketball victory.

Kallie Pelletier scored seven of her 15 points in the fourth quarter for the Owls and Emma Dionne had 11 points.

Whitney Park led Fort Fairfield with 13 points. Alison Blaisdell scored 11 points and Kaitlyn McLaughlin added 10 points.

At Sawyer Arena in Bangor Saturday, Chase Huckestein and Connor Schofield each scored third-period goals for John Bapst to tie up the game and send it to the scoreless overtime.

Andrew Casey and Casey Hull assisted on Huckestein’s goal 7:53 into the third and Travis Poulin assisted on Scofield’s goal 25 seconds later. Nate Kuneman made 33 saves for the 10-3-1 Crusaders.

Brandon Daigle scored a first-period goal off a Dylan Collins assist for 8-6-2 Presque Isle and Josh Buck set up Mark Carvell’s second-period goal. Ethan Hill made 36 saves.

At Calais, the Blue Devils placed five players in double-figure scoring en route to their 15th victory of the season and 59th consecutive win.

Sam Bell paced the winners with 19 points and Jordan Leeman added 13. Rod Tirrell chipped in with 11 points while brothers Cal and Cam Shorey scored 10 apiece.

Ryan Hill scored 24 points to lead the Shiretowners and Josh Beals put in 10.

York finished with a game-high 19 points for Central Aroostook and Manny Martinez added nine.

Jeremy Brock led Easton with 13 points, while Sam Bacon and Nick Flewelling had eight apiece.
