BAR HARBOR – Local community organizations along Mount Desert Street are planning a free progressive dinner for 5-7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 29.

Open to public, the “Leap into March” Community Progressive Dinner is a group venture by the YWCA, Jesup Library, St. Saviour’s Episcopal Church, Bar Harbor Congregational Church and the Abbe Museum.

The fun begins at the YWCA on Mount Desert Street with a play based on a Wabanaki Indian story “Gluscabe and Old Man Winter” performed by students from Conners-Emerson School. The festivities then move next door to the Jesup Library at 5:30 p.m. for appetizers, followed by salad at St. Saviour’s at 6 p.m.

At 6:30 the Bar Harbor Congregational Church will host soup and bread, and the evening will conclude at the Abbe Museum for dessert.
