ASHLAND – Mindy Chasse scored eight of her game-high 27 points in the third quarter, during which the Ashland Hornets outscored Southern Aroostook of Dyer Brook 21-14 to pull away for a 66-48 schoolgirl basketball victory Wednesday night.
After Ashland opened the game on a 17-3 run, the Warriors went on a 22-12 surge in the second quarter to close the lead to four at halftime.
Chasse also grabbed 12 rebounds; her cousin Whitney Flint tossed in 10 points and pulled down 10 boards while Suzie Poulin added 10 points for Ashland.
Evangaline Goodall’s 12 points led the Warriors while Lauren McGary scored 10.
