BREWER – Cool off with a tour of the ice sculptures and warm up with the best in homemade chili and chowder in town. And don’t forget Friday night’s traditional reception with the Meddybempsters followed by fireworks at 9 p.m.

There’s plenty of family fun promised for participants of Brewer Winterfest on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 15-16.

This year, participants of the children’s events at Brewer Auditorium and the Winter Snowball Dance at the Muddy Rudder will be contributing to the Keep ME Warm program, organizers said.

Dance tickets for the Saturday evening event cost $15 a person, $25 a couple or $100 for a table of eight and should be purchased in advance at 974-2402 or www.penquis.org. Hors d’oeuvres, happy-hour drink prices and dance lessons are included in the price. The dance is sponsored by Penquis and Brewer Kiwanis.

Friday, Feb. 15

. Ice carving demonstration with Jeff Day of Ice Designs in New Hampshire, outside Muddy Rudder, 3-8 p.m.

. Skating and sledding party, 6-8 p.m., Doyle Field behind Brewer Auditorium.

. Packet pickup for sniffleball tournament, 6-9 p.m., Muddy Rudder.

. Cocktail hors d’oeuvres reception with live entertainment by the Meddybempsters, 6-9 p.m., Chamberlain Room, Muddy Rudder. Free hors d’oeuvres courtesy of Trans Tech Industries. Happy Hour drink prices.

. Fireworks display, 9 p.m., outside Muddy Rudder – the area’s only winter fireworks by Blue Hill Pyrotechnics.

Saturday, Feb. 16

. French toast breakfast, 7-10 a.m., Brewer Auditorium, $5, $3 children.

. Sniffleball tournament, 8 a.m.-3 p.m., Doyle Field, behind Brewer Auditorium. Call 989-5199 to register your team in advance.

. Snow creation free-for-all, 9 a.m.-2 p.m., Brewer Auditorium. Bring your friends and family and create a snow sculpture of your own.

. Family activities and games, sponsored by Penquis, 9 a.m.-2 p.m., Brewer Auditorium. $1 per child, games and prizes for everyone.

. Ice carving competition and displays, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Muddy Rudder.
