AUGUSTA – Regis Tremblay of Cape Elizabeth has been appointed director of the Division of Public Information and Education at the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.

“Regis brings a wealth of experience in organizational management, government and education to the department,” said IF&W Commissioner Roland Martin.

Tremblay is founder and host of a Portland radio show, “The Regis Tremblay Show,” which focuses on the wellness of children. He also founded a nonprofit organization that works in schools, hospitals and public health organizations to combat obesity.

“His extensive background complements the outreach and responsibilities of the Public Information and Education Division,” Martin said of Tremblay. “His energy and communication skills will add strength to a division that already serves the public wealth.”

The position was being held by Deborah Turcotte on an interim basis until Tremblay was available to serve as director.

“Deborah did an outstanding job managing the division and serving as spokesperson for the department and the Maine Warden Service,” Martin said.

Turcotte, a former reporter and communications specialist from Bangor, will now serve as acting public relations representative for the department.
