BURLINGTON, Vt. – Two boxers from Wyman’s Boxing Club in Stockton Springs won events at the Vermont Golden Gloves on Saturday.
Dover-Foxcroft’s Jeff Harrison defeated Chad Limoge of Burlington, Vt., in the 141-pound weight class in the novice division.
Josh McAuliffe of Bangor beat Bob Newton of Springfield, Vt., in the open heavyweight division.
Both boxers advance to the New England Golden Gloves in Lowell, Mass. Harrison, 17, will fight on Tuesday and Wednesday, and McAuliffe, 27, will be in the open division Feb. 19-20.
If McAuliffe wins, he’ll advance to the nationals in Colorado Springs, Colo.
