Maine poet Lee Sharkey will read from her new book, “A Darker, Sweeter String,” at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, at the Farmington Public Library.

In this collection, Sharkey, a co-editor of Beloit Poetry Journal, explores “the disfigured psychic landscape of cruelty, violence and war.”
