HOPE – A Camden woman was killed Sunday afternoon in a one-vehicle accident on Route 17.

Tracey Feener, 37, was killed instantly when she was thrown from her 1997 Chevrolet Tahoe after it overturned, said Maine State Police Trooper Jeremiah Wesbrock.

Feener was alone at the time of the crash, which was reported about 12:30 p.m. Her SUV drifted off the road on a long curve, became airborne after hitting a snowbank, and came to rest on its side.

She was not wearing a seat belt. The police report said it is likely she would have survived the crash if she had been buckled up.

Deputy Sheriff John Palmer of the Knox County Department assisted state police at the crash site.

An accident reconstructionist is investigating the site, state police said Monday.
