Mark Socoby

Mark Socoby of the University of Maine men’s basketball team has been named the America East Player of the Week after averaging 24.5 points and eight rebounds in games against Hartford and New Hampshire. At Hartford, Socoby had 20 points, six rebounds, three steals and a block. In the overtime victory at New Hampshire, Socoby had 29 points and 10 rebounds.

Evan Mullin

Evan Mullin of Colby College was selected as the NESCAC Men’s Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week. Mullin claimed two individual races and led off the winning 200-yard Medley Relay and the 400-yard Freestyle Relay for the Mules at Bowdoin.

Kelsey Potdevin

Colby College junior Kelsey Potdevin has been chosen as the NESCAC Women’s Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week. Potdevin broke three Colby records last week during the Mules’ meet with Bowdoin in the 50-yard backstroke performance in the 200-yard Medley Relay, and in the 100-yard and 200-yard backstroke.

Hattie Landry

Hattie Landry of the University of Southern Maine women’s indoor track and field team has been honored as the LEC Track Co-Athlete of the Week. Landry scored 38 points for USM and won the 200-meter dash, 55-meter hurdles and the 55-meter dash, earning three of the Huskies’ seven first place finishes.

Emily Poliquin

Emily Poliquin of the University of Southern Maine women’s indoor track and field team was named the LEC Field Athlete of the Week. Poliquin tallied 28 individual points while winning the long jump with a leap of 5.09 meters and earning a second place finish in the triple jump with a distance of 10.65 meters.

Shelby Bradford

Husson forward Shelby Bradford was named NAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. She averaged 17 points and 14 rebounds in leading the Eagles to a pair of conference wins last week.

Amethyst Cousins

Amethyst Cousins of Maine Maritime Academy and Cortney Barrett of Thomas College shared NAC Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week honors. Cousins averaged 12 points and 8 rebounds for the Mariners as they split two conference games over the weekend. Barrett averaged 10 points for Thomas as the Terriers earned two NAC wins.

Brock Bradford, Matt St. John

Husson College’s Brock Bradford and Matt St. John of UMaine-Farmington were named NAC Men’s Basketball C0-Players of the Week. Bradford led the Eagles to three wins last week, averaging 22 points and six assists. St. John scored his 1,000th career point in leading the Beavers to a conference victory over Lesley. He followed that up with 25 points in a win over Wheelock.

Chad Paddock

Maine Maritime Academy’s Chad Paddock was named NAC Men’s Basketball Rookie of the Week. He averaged 14.5 points, including a career-high 24 in a win over Johnson State last weekend.
