AUGUSTA – The price of home heating oil continues to creep downward in Maine.
The state energy office announced Monday the statewide average dropped by a penny to $3.20 a gallon, for the fourth consecutive weekly decline in price. The statewide average price is 89 cents per gallon higher than it was last year at this time.
Likewise, the average price of kerosene was down by 2 cents to $3.61 per gallon and propane was down by a penny to $2.95 per gallon over the past week.
The survey found the lowest price of heating oil was $2.83 per gallon in western Maine and the highest price was $3.40 per gallon in eastern Maine.
