‘Fawlty,’ ‘Python’ to stay a bit longer

BREWER – The public asked for it and now Ten Bucks Theatre is delivering it – more “Fawlty Towers” and “Monty Python.”

As an inaugural in its brand new theater space, Ten Bucks presents the kipper and the corpse and the German.

See Basil Fawlty as the overbearing and much put upon proprietor of one of the wackiest hotels ever.

And if that isn’t enough to have you holding your stomach, begging us to stop, we also include more hysterical “Monty Python” sketches.

If you’ve never seen “Fawlty Towers” or “Monty Python, run, don’t walk to enjoy what is considered some of the funniest scripts ever written. Real life married couple Ron Lisnet and Julie Arnold Lisnet play Basil and his wife, Sybil. John Greenman plays the Major. Hillary Roberts plays Polly, Allen Adams is Manuel and Arthur Morison plays a wide variety of characters.

The show has been extended to run at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Feb. 15 and 16; and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, at the theater’s new location at 39 Center St. in Brewer at the Between Friends Art Center – formerly Center Mall Antiques. The box office opens a half-hour before show time.

Tickets are $10, $5 children and students. College students must show a school I.D. Call 884-1030 for information and ticket requests only. Tickets may also be purchased at Between Friends in Brewer by calling 989-7100. Only cash or checks are accepted in payment for tickets.
