WATERVILLE – Adam Choice blocked a shot with 21 seconds to play as Colby College held on for an 68-65 men’s basketball victory over Bates College of Lewiston in NESCAC action Friday night.

Choice finished with 18 points, a team-high, for the Mules. Mark Gaudet scored 14 while Michael Russell added 13.

Chris Wilson of Brewer hit four 3-pointers en route to 16 points for Bates. Bryan Wholey led all scorers with 19 points and Sean Wirth added 10.

At Brunswick, Kyle Jackson had 17 points and 10 rebounds to help lead Bowdoin College past Tufts University.

Jordan Fliegel scored 16 points for the Polar Bears and Andrew Hippert added 15 points. Andrew Sargeantson scored 14 points.

Jon Pierce scored a game-high 22 points to lead Tufts and Jake Weitzen chipped in 14 points and eight rebounds.

At Lewiston, the Bobcats surged to a 13-point halftime lead in earning a New England Small College Athletic Conference victory over their archrivals, the Mules.

Meg Coffin paced Bates College with 20 points and nine rebounds and Val Beckwith posted 19 points and six assists. Matia Kostakis added 10 points.

Allison Cappelloni poured in a game-high 29 points to lead Colby College of Waterville. Karlyn Adler provided 12 points, five assists and three steals.

Katie Bergeron paced Bowdion with 15 points. Alexa Kaubris had 13 points and Caitlin Hynes chipped in 11 points.
