Machias supper backs Margaretta Days

MACHIAS – The Machias Historical Society will hold a benefit spaghetti supper at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at Holy Name Parish Hall on Broadway. The cost is $6 at the door. Spaghetti, salad and ice cream are on the menu.

The supper will benefit the fourth annual Margaretta Days Festival to be held June 21 at the University of Maine at Machias. Margaretta Days recalls the capture of the British vessel Margaretta in Machias Bay on June 12, 1775. It was the first naval engagement of the American Revolution.
