Mt. Blue of Farmington won both the boys and girls team championships at the KVAC Skiing Championships at Titcomb Mountain in Skowhegan and Black Mountain in Rumford.
The Mt. Blue boys had a team total of 125 combined points from slalom, giant slalom, classical cross country and freestyle cross country events to finish well ahead of Oxford Hills of South Paris, which scored 240. Maranacook of Readfield was third with 286 followed by Edward Little of Auburn (325) and Camden Hills of Rockport (397).
On the girls’ side, Mt. Blue had 109 points to Leavitt’s 210 points. Maranacook had 252 points to finish third, Oxford Hills was fourth (416) and Camden Hills fifth (417).
Maranacook’s Jen Monsulick won the girls skimeister with a total of 63 points, six points better than runner-up Hannah Vigue of Camden Hills. Monsulick finished eighth in both the cross country classical and freestyle events, 22nd in the giant slalom and 25th in the slalom. Amanda Hall of Mt. Blue was fourth with 105 and Camden Hills’ Chloe Squibb was fifth with 144.
Mt. Blue swept the top three spots in the boys skimeister, led by Welly Ramsey’s 49 points. Peter Smith had 88 and Jared Foster was third with 94. Jackson Witherall of Maranacook was fourth (130) followed by Andrew Baxter of Camden Hills (130), Sean Daigle of Maranacook (170) and Tim Daigle of Mt. Blue (225).
Ramsey won the cross country classical and finished second in the cross country freestyle. He was 21st in the giant slalom and 25th in the slalom.
