DOVER-FOXCROFT – A recruitment luncheon for people interested in learning more about Leadership Maine will be held at 11:30 a.m. March 13, at the Penquis Higher Education Center.

Merlene Sanborn, PHEC’s director, Stephanie Bunker, InterfaceFABRIC’s training and development manager, and Tom Lizotte, Mayo Regional Hospital’s director of marketing and development, will be hosts for the luncheon. All three are graduates of Leadership Maine, a program of the Maine Development Foundation.

Leadership Maine is a yearlong program that prepares leaders to shape Maine’s changing economy. In seven sessions throughout the year, Leadership Maine provides experiential learning with goals of reaching a broader understanding about the Maine economy, what is required to be a leader today, refined skills and new networks with others.

Leadership Maine is accepting applications for the 16th class for which 40 to 45 applicants will be selected to participate, representing diverse public and private sector leaders committed to Maine’s future with a demonstrated capacity to lead, and a record of professional and civic accomplishments. Leadership Maine is dedicated to recruiting participants from every Maine county.

Packets and applications will be distributed at the briefing. Alumni will discuss their experiences and answer questions. The application deadline is March 29.

To learn more about Leadership Maine or to register for the briefing, contact the Maine Development Foundation at 626-3116, e-mail cmiller@mdf.org, or visit MDF’s Web site at www.mdf.org.
