AUGUSTA – Old Fort Western’s 2008 Winter Lecture Series will continue with the program “Signs of the Times: A Preview of Augusta’s Museum in the Streets Projects,” beginning at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, in the learning gallery, City Hall, 16 Cony St., Augusta. Note the Sunday date and time.

Old Fort Western director and curator Jay Adams will be the speaker. He will describe plans for three Museum in the Streets projects tentatively slated for installation this year. Museum in the Streets is a proprietary interpretive sign program developed by Patrick Cardon of Cushing. Pictures and text describing historic events, structures and people are selected, placed on outdoor signs and installed in the topical locations. In Augusta, signs are planned for the Riverfront District, Mill Park-Canal Street, and at Civil War-related locations.

The full schedule is available at www.oldfortwestern.org or call 626-2385. Half of the programs take place Thursday evenings; half take place Sunday afternoons. Check the schedule for times and dates.
