Obama – Yes we can

This is in response to Jill Conover’s OpEd, “Hillary Clinton’s health care plan will succeed” (BDN, Feb. 13). We have leaders with 10, 20 and 30 years’ experience in the political system, but they were neither messengers nor leaders. They could not instill hope that leads to support that leads to change (results). We need true leaders who rally, energize and motivate U.S. citizens to effective change.

Sens. McCain and Clinton change their messages, but they cannot change who they are – ineffective messengers (McCain on campaign reform and Clinton on health care).

Barack Obama, not the Democratic Party, has brought out more voters than at any other time in history. Barack tells it like it is and that it will not be a cakewalk to change the direction of this country, but “yes we can.” He’s the right leader for the time, with the right message.

Barack’s “high five” issues are: health care, the economy, getting out of Iraq, energy policy and bringing Republicans to our tent – “Yes we can” to all. And the superdelegates will also be saying, “Yes we can” and throw their support to Barack.
