AUGUSTA – Heating oil prices are back up in Maine after four weeks of decline.

The Maine Office of Energy Independence and Security said Tuesday that the statewide average for heating oil was $3.28 a gallon. That’s 8 cents higher than a week ago and 95 cents higher than last year at this time.

The statewide average for kerosene was $3.69 a gallon, which was also up 8 cents since last week. Propane prices fell by a penny, to $2.94 a gallon.

According to the energy office, the lowest fuel prices are in southern Maine and the highest are in eastern sections.
