LIMESTONE – Wade E. McLaughlin of Limestone has announced his intention to seek election in November to the Maine House of Representatives for District 3, which includes Caswell, Connor, Cyr Plantation, Grand Isle, Hamlin, Limestone, New Sweden, Van Buren and Woodland.

A lifelong resident of Limestone, McLaughlin is the interim athletic director for Limestone Community School and the Maine School of Science and Mathematics and is a substitute schoolteacher. He also serves on several local committees.

In his announcement, McLaughlin said, “We need someone in our state capital to focus on quality education for our children, sustained economic growth and job opportunities, and of course, affordable health care for all.”

McLaughlin said he has directed several successful political campaigns. A former coordinated campaign director for Aroostook County, he studied political science at the University of Maine at Fort Kent. He is a former Limestone town chairman and former regional chairman of the Aroostook County Democratic Party.
