NEWPORT – A local man who has been missing for more than 24 hours is without his diabetic medicine, and police are asking people to help find him.

Dennis Bournival, 57, left his home early Tuesday without his diabetes medicine. Police and family members said they are worried that he may be in trouble.

“We searched most of the night,” Police Chief Leonard Macdaid said Wednesday morning. “He left his home in Newport at about 7:30 yesterday morning.”

Bournival was described as a 170-pound, 5-foot-5 white male. He has brown hair and blue eyes and was last seen wearing a blue corduroy hat, a heavy gray coat and gray sweat pants.
