MILLINOCKET – Herbert E. Clark has announced his bid for re-election to House District 10 in the Maine Legislature. Clark, a Democrat, is a lifelong resident of Millinocket.

During his time in the Legislature, Clark has served two terms as House chairman of the Utilities Committee and one term as House chairman of the Criminal Justice Committee. He also served on the Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, Banking and Insurance, and the Audit Program Review committees. He serves as senior ranking member of the Taxation and Labor committees.

Clark said the major issues facing his district are school consolidation, job creation, health insurance, school funding, health care cost, funding for postsecondary education, and the cost of prescription medications for senior citizens.

Clark was employed at Kathadin Paper for 42 years. He lives at 180 Bowdoin St. with his wife, Ellen Smith Clark. He is the father of two adult children, Joseph and Tammi, and has four grandchildren.
