The following recalls have been announced:

About 152,000 portable electric heaters, manufactured in China and imported and distributed by Aloha Housewares Inc., because they can overheat and their plastic parts can melt, posing a risk of fires. The company has received 29 reports of heaters melting, smoking or igniting. The heaters were sold at Wal-Mart and small chain retailers around the country between August 2006 and November 2007. . About 25,000 “Louisville/Davidson” and “Michigan” brand fiberglass extension ladders, made in Mexico by Louisville Ladder Inc., because the extension or “fly” section can fail to lock, posing a fall hazard to consumers. No injuries or incidents have been reported. The recalled ladders include type I, IA or II extension ladders with fiberglass rails and “D” shaped aluminum rungs.
