ELLSWORTH – Verizon Wireless announced it has activated a new cell site in Hancock County that increases wireless voice and data coverage and capacity along Routes 1, 3, 230, and 172 in Ellsworth, as well as the surrounding area.
Verizon Wireless said it has invested nearly $44 billion since it was formed to increase the coverage and capacity of its national network and to add new services such as BroadbandAccess and V CAST. Regionally, the company has invested nearly $2.2 billion into its New England network, including more than $292 million in 2007 alone.
