Meet Joshua, an active young man who enjoys a variety of activities. Joshua was born in 1996. He is friendly, engaging and has a great smile.
When indoors, Joshua can be found watching cartoons on TV or reading a book. His favorite books are from the “Goosebumps” series. Joshua says he likes reading those books because they are mysteries. He also likes to build toys with a magnetic play set. When the weather is a bit warmer, Joshua almost always will be found outside. He likes to help out with chores around the house and is a big help to his foster family. He will find things to play with outside – a stick or a tree is all the entertainment Joshua needs to have fun outdoors. Joshua says he also enjoys camping.
Joshua attends public school where he occasionally receives one-on-one support to help him complete his work. Joshua says his favorite subject is recess because that is when he gets to play with his friends.
Joshua is a Celtics fan. This is a new interest for him. He is beginning to learn about the players on the team as well as the rules of the game of basketball. Joshua also likes to be behind the camera. Another new interests for Joshua is taking pictures. He would like a digital camera of his own to take pictures of his outdoor adventures.
An adoption subsidy is available to the most appropriate family. Joshua is one of 156 children in Maine Department of Health and Human Services care who are seeking an adoptive family. Based in Gardiner, A Family for ME is a nonprofit program that works in collaboration with Maine DHHS to find foster and adoptive families for Maine children in care.
