BOSTON – A Maine fishing boat is back in port after being towed to safety by a Coast Guard cutter.

The 75-foot Aaron & Melissa II, based in Westbrook, reported shortly before midnight Friday that it had experienced engine failure about 35 miles east of Gloucester, Mass.

A 110-foot cutter reached the boat with three crewmen aboard at about 7:30 Saturday morning and towed it back to Gloucester. No injuries were reported.
