Allyson Howatt enjoyed a banner day at the America East track and field championships in Boston last weekend, as the Fredericton, New Brunswick, native established school records in the 200-meter dash, 55-meter dash and led the 4×400 relay team to a new mark.

Howatt won the 200 in 24.60 seconds and was third in the 55 in 7.22 as the Black Bears finished sixth in the team ranks with 54 points.

Howatt, Vicki Tolton, Lindsay Burlock and Litai Pilosof clocked a 3:50.82 in the relay while Tolton won the open 400 in 57.18, also good for a school record.

Boston University went on to win the team title with 206.83 points.

On the men’s side, Jeff Ramos of Turner was Maine’s lone individual winner, taking the high jump with a mark of 2.02 meters.

The Bears placed eighth with 28 points while Albany took the championship with 186.

Skip Edwards of Portland ran to a school-record time of 48.43 in the 400 preliminaries while coming back to post a 48.79 in the finals, good for third place.
