CASTINE – Maine Maritime Academy limited Elms College to 25 points on 20 percent shooting while earning a 62-25 North Atlantic Conference women’s basketball quarterfinal victory Tuesday night at Smith Gym.
The Mariners (18-8) face Husson College of Bangor in Friday’s 8 p.m. semifinal at Castleton State College in Castleton, Vt.
Freshman Brittany Hunt hit four 3-pointers on her way to a game-high 19 points for MMA, which built a 40-12 halftime lead. Megan Franklin contributed 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Ashley Tilton posted seven points and eight rebounds and Amethyst Cousins added six points, eight rebounds, three assists and three blocked shots.
The Mariners outrebounded the Blazers 46-20.
Shauna Sullivan led Elms (9-17), of Chicopee, Mass., with nine points and five rebounds.
Becker 68, UM-Farmington 49
At Worcester, Mass., Kristin Karat and Courtney Fiske each buried five 3-pointers as Becker College ousted UMaine-Farmington in a NAC quarterfinal.
Karat finished with 21 points, a game-high, and Fiske 15 for Becker while Brittany Evans added 10.
Elizabeth Bell tossed in 11 points and Erin Porter 10 for the Beavers.

At Castleton State, Vt., the Spartans closed the first half with a 13-3 scoring surge to take a 10-point lead and then outscored the Terriers 43-28 in the second half to gain the North Atlantic Conference quarterfinal victory.
Laura Cary and Mary Nienow paced 19-7 Castleton with 16 points each.
Lea McNary led the Terriers of Waterville (12-12) with 13 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists. Cortney Barrett added nine points and 10 rebounds.
USM 79, UMass Dartmouth 31
At Gorham, Stacey Kent fueled a balanced Huskies attack with 17 points as they cruised past UMass Dartmouth in a Little East quarterfinal.
Shannon Kynoch tossed in 12 points for USM, which had all 13 players crack the scoring column.
Ashley Chard led UMass Dartmouth with seven points.

At Chicopee, Mass., Elms scored 10 unanswered points to start the game en route to the North Atlantic Conference quarterfinal victory over UMaine-Farmington.
The Blazers upped their lead to 14 at the half and UMF got it down to 11 when Matt St. John hit a 3-pointer with 13:47 left, but Elms responded with an 18-9 scoring advantage over the next seven minutes to secure the victory.
Juan Galdon paced the winners with 15 points.
St. John led UMF with 17 points and Isaac Hutchinson added 14. Josh Tanguay grabbed 11 rebounds.
