HARRISBURG, N.C. – Andy Santerre Motorsports announced that it has signed Peyton Sellers of Danville, Va., to drive the No. 44 Casella Waste Systems Chevrolet in the NASCAR Camping World Series East.
Santerre of Cherryfield is a four-time Camping World Series East champion and fielded two cars in the same series last season.
Sellers, 24, finished third in Camping World Series East (formerly Busch East Series) points last year, compiling a pole, five top-fives and nine top-10 finishes in 13 starts in a family-owned car.
Casella Waste Systems will be the primary sponsor for six of the 13 races. ASM is searching for sponsors for the other seven races.
In 2007, Sean Caisse finished second in points with four wins in the No. 44 Chevrolet for ASM, and Dale Earnhardt Inc. development driver Jeffrey Earnhardt was fifth in points with a pole and four top-fives. Both drivers have moved on to other opportunities.
Santerre’s other new driver, Austin Dillon, will pilot the No. 3 Garage Equipment Supply Chevrolet. Dillon is the grandson of NASCAR team owner Richard Childress.
The Camping World Series East’s first race will be on April 19 at Greenville-Pickens Speedway (S.C.).
