Rotary offers ‘All That Jazz’

BANGOR – The Bangor Area Breakfast Rotary will present four musical groups in the third “All That Jazz” concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 13, in Peakes Auditorium at Bangor High School.

Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased at the door or from a Bangor Breakfast Rotarian. Proceeds benefit the 32 Degree Masonic Learning Center for Children.

Breakfast Rotary has secured sponsorships from local businesses to fund the contributions to the musical groups. The school musical groups have identified specific needs for the funds they receive, such as student scholarships, new musical instruments and travel expenses for attending out-of-state competitions.

This year’s performers are:

. Bangor High School Concert Band.

. Old Town High School Concert Band.

. Hampden Academy Jazz Ensemble.

. Hampden Academy Voices Unlimited.

Each performing group will receive $1,000 for participating in the concert. In addition, the audience will vote for the best performer of the evening, with that group receiving an additional $2,000.

In previous years, the Bangor Area Breakfast Rotary’s jazz concerts have benefited United Cerebral Palsy and For Kids’ Sake.

Breakfast Rotary was established in 1989 with the mission of making a difference in the lives of the youth of Greater Bangor.
