AUBURN – A Poland man who let minors drink at his home before one of them caused a crash that claimed six lives has been sentenced to 21 days in jail.

Ryan M. Brissette pleaded no contest to allowing a minor to drink at a place under his control the night of Dec. 23, 2006.

Sheriff’s Department investigators say one of the partygoers. 20-year-old Michael Cournoyer, later caused a collision that killed himself and three passengers, along with a couple in another car.

Cournoyer’s blood alcohol content at the time was 0.14 percent, nearly twice the 0.08 legal limit for driving.

Another of the underage drinkers, 20-year-old Samantha Renee Montana, was accused of letting Cournoyer borrow her car that night. She will perform 100 hours of community service and pay a fine.
