ORONO – The University of Maine field hockey team has earned the 2007 ZAG/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I National Academy Team Award, it was announced Monday.

The Black Bears were also singled out as one of the Top 5 performers for team grade point average with a 3.50 cumulative GPA.

UMaine also had 10 student-athletes named to the national academic squad. Those 10 were Kristen Healy of Turner, Christie Mosley of Hampden, Erin Reusch of Salem, N.H., Winthrop’s Nicole Emery, Augusta’s Rebecca Giroux, Mallory Anderson of Hampton Falls, N.H., Mallory Shute of Norridgewock, Britt Cummings of Belfast, Maire Dineen of Toronto and Cassandra Mendonca of Thornhill, Ontario.
