The anti-war rallies and vigils planned Saturday include the following locations in the Bangor Daily News circulation area:

Aroostook County

. 1 p.m., gathering at the Caribou Universalist Church, 3 Grove St.

. 2 p.m., silent vigil in front of recreation center, Bennett Drive, Caribou.

. 2:30 p.m., refreshments, conversation, e-mailing and letter writing at the Caribou Universalist Church, 3 Grove St.

. 10:30-11:30 a.m., vigil at the corner of Park and Main streets in Rockland.

Penobscot and Piscataquis counties

. 11 a.m.-noon, Stillwater Bridge, downtown Orono. For more information, contact Karin at karin.carrison@umit.maine.edu.

. 1 p.m., Paul Bunyan Park, 519 Main St., Bangor, Chain of Concern vigil from Paul Bunyan Park to Bangor Homeless Shelter and live performance by Maine singer-songwriter Dave Mallet. For more information, call the Peace and Justice Center of Eastern Maine at 942-9343. Carpools to the event are being organized from Rockland, Lincoln, Belfast, Winterport, Pittsfield, Dover-Foxcroft, Hampden, Orono and Old Town.

Somerset County

. Noon-4 p.m., Empire Grill, 40 Water St., Skowhegan. There will be a live feed from the “Winter Soldier” gathering in the Washington, D.C., area.

. 10 a.m., post office, 1 Franklin St., Belfast. A vigil and gathering for community remembrance will include a walk from the post office to the Unitarian-Universalist Church on Miller Street. For more information, call 388-5089.
