Siemers to perform in Bangor ‘Goldberg Variations’ on All Souls program by Bach specialist

BANGOR – Pianist Robert Siemers has delighted audiences throughout the United States as well as abroad. His performances of the keyboard works of J.S. Bach receive both high critical acclaim and enthusiastic audience response.

Siemers will perform J.S. Bach’s “Goldberg Variations” and a Schubert sonata as part of the Arlan A. Baillie Steinway Performance Series at 7 p.m. Monday, March 17, at All Souls Congregational Church, 10 Broadway.

Highlights of Siemers’ career include solo recital appearances at the New England Bach Festival in Brattleboro, Vt., the Shenandoah Valley Bach Festival in Harrisonburg, Va., the Bach Festival Society of Kalamazoo in Michigan, as well as many recital appearances at performing arts series from coast to coast.

His performances abroad include solo recitals in London at Wigmore Hall and at the Glinka Museum in Moscow. In addition, he has presented lectures and master classes on performing the keyboard works of Bach throughout the United States as well as at the Moscow Conservatoire.

Siemers received a master’s degree from the Eastman School of Music and a doctorate from Indiana University.

Siemers teaches piano at the renowned Milton Hershey School in Hershey, Pa.
