LINCOLN – Linda Morrill is the town’s new library director.
The Town Council unanimously voted earlier this week to offer Morrill the position previously held by Lisa Auriemma, who resigned in July to work at Thomas College in Waterville.
A former children’s librarian and library director in Lee, N.H., Morrill has a great deal of experience that should serve her well as Lincoln’s new library director, Town Manager Glenn Aho said.
“She is a great match for our town and has a lot of experience in a library of our same size,” Aho said in a statement.
Morrill worked in Lee for 13 years. She was named New Hampshire’s Librarian of the Year in 1994, Aho said, and has experience in fundraising, management, organization and setting goals.
Aho complimented Carol Johnson, assistant librarian, who ran the library in Auriemma’s absence, and Mary Jo Hammond, children’s librarian, for their efforts managing the library.
Morrill is due to start work March 17, Aho said. Residents are invited to attend a reception for Morrill at the Lincoln Memorial library at 6 p.m. March 20.
