Christie Bernier of Edward Little in Auburn earned two high school All-American awards with her two top-five finishes in national racewalking events.
Bernier placed fourth with a time of 7:53.62 in the Nike Indoor National Championship mile racewalk in Landover, Md., and fifth at the National Scholastic Indoor Track and Field Championships in New York City (7:55.23). She has earned three high school All-American awards in her career.
Boothbay sophomore Matthew Forgues finished fourth in New York with a time of 7:08 in the mile racewalk. He took home his fourth career high school All-American award.
Tyler Campbell of Lisbon was seventh at the Maryland event and sixth in New York. He also earned his third high school All-American award.
Lisbon seniors Sara Adams and Kelley Baickle finished 13th and 14th, respectively, at the Nike Indoor Nationals. Ashley Cox of Bonny Eagle was 15th and Mt. Blue’s Emily Reed was 16th.
