BELFAST – Two area women were arrested on felony drug charges Tuesday as part of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking in Waldo County.

Latisha L. Wing, 38, of Belfast was charged with two counts of trafficking in scheduled drugs, and Andrea M. Walsh, 37, of Frankfort was charged with one count of trafficking in scheduled drugs. The women are alleged to have sold heroin, cocaine and prescription drugs.

Both were taken to Waldo County Jail where they are being held on $2,000 cash bail.

The arrests resulted from an ongoing investigation being conducted by the Waldo County Sheriff’s Department and Maine Drug Enforcement Agency. The investigation has led to the arrest of eight people over the past few weeks and additional arrests are expected, according to Deputy Merl Reed, the arresting officer.
