BANGOR – A three-car accident Friday that briefly backed up traffic on Union Street looked more dramatic than it was, according to police reports.

Sandra Hallett, 66, of Bangor didn’t realize that the vehicles in front of her had stopped at a traffic light in front of the Eastern Maine Health Care Mall and she rear-ended the car in front of her, pushing it into another vehicle, according to Bangor police Sgt. Catherine Rumsey.

The front of Hallett’s car ended up slightly underneath the car driven by Duston Thomas, 21, of Bangor and pushed his vehicle into a car driven by Shauna Dufour, 19, also of Bangor.

Hallett and Thomas complained of some pain and were taken to the hospital to be evaluated, but their condition wasn’t known Friday night. All three vehicles were towed from the scene.
