Samuel is a bright-eyed young man who is described as caring and inquisitive. Born in 1995, Sam loves to play with video games and electronics of all kinds. He is initially quiet and shy, but once comfortable, he is engaging and polite.
Samuel attends public school and says he likes it. His favorite subject is science. He recently was working with circuits and electricity and was excited to learn about them. Samuel enjoys playing soccer, and his favorite outdoor activity is ice-skating. He helps clear snow from a pond near his house so he can skate there with other kids in the neighborhood.
The best family for Samuel will be experienced and nurturing. A home that is structured, predictable and quiet would fit well with his needs. It would be best for Samuel to be the youngest in the home, but the professionals who work with him hope for a family where Samuel can be an only child. Samuel needs a family that can help him recognize his best qualities and someone to help him grow into his best self.
Samuel has a younger brother, and it’s important for them to maintain contact with each other.
Samuel is one of 156 children in the Maine Department of Health and Human Services care who are seeking an adoptive family. Based in Gardiner, A Family for ME is a nonprofit program that works in collaboration with Maine DHHS to find foster and adoptive families for Maine children in care.
