Get in your nominees for George Hale award

Nominations must be made by Monday, March 31, for any person or organization that wants to honor individuals with the Eastern Area Agency on Aging George Hale Silver Frame Awards.

“We are encouraging people to get their nominations in” as soon as possible, wrote Carol Higgins Taylor of the awards presented to individuals in two age groups, 60-75 and 76 and older.

The awards recognize people “who have shown themselves to be exceptional role models” in one of three categories: artistic-creative; fitness or outdoor enthusiast-adventurer; and lifelong learner-entrepreneurial.

The first category includes painters, quilters, gardeners and people living vital lives and sharing their talents with others. The second category describes individuals living life to the fullest, and the third category recognizes those who are open to new ideas and decisions and are eager to learn new skills, according to the information provided by EAAA.

Nomination forms are available at eaaa.org. More information can be obtained by writing EAAA, 450 Essex St., Bangor 04401, or calling 800-432-7812 or 941-2865 or Higgins Taylor at 992-0135.
