FORT MYERS, Fla. – Sarah Cusack laced a single to drive in the game-winning run as the University of Southern Maine rallied from a one-run deficit in the bottom of the eighth inning to defeat SUNY-Potsdam 7-6 in the second game of a softball doubleheader Tuesday.
The Huskies dropped their first game 7-6 to Oberlin College.
In the first game, Tiffany Jordan and Sarah Deroche each posted two hits for USM. Sabrina Sevigny and Deroche drove in two runs apiece.
In the second game, Sarah Stuart led the Huskies with three hits, while Deroche and Cusack each had two.

At Fort Myers, Fla., Colby College moved to 5-0 with a 13-1 win over Potsdam State before Otterbein College won 6-5 to hand the Mules their first loss of the season.
In the first game, Colby scored 13 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to turn around a 1-0 deficit.
Alex Essman went 4-for-4 with a double and a triple while Sarah Whitfield, Alaina Clark and Alyssa Lepore each had two hits for the Mules.
In the second game, Otterbein scored two runs in the seventh inning and added the game-winning run in the eighth for the victory.
Tory Starr led Colby with a two-run single.

At Chandler, Ariz., the University of Southern Maine pounded out 23 hits against four Massachusetts Institute of Technology pitchers en route to victory on Monday.
Chris Burleson and Mike Eaton paced the Huskies with four hits apiece. Anthony D’Alfonso and Jordan Berthiaume each posted three hits. Eddie Skeffington and D’Alfonso each hit two home runs.
