BREWER – A Carmel woman is facing charges after she allegedly sold prescription pills to undercover agents with the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, according to police.

Bridgette Walker, 36, is accused of selling more than 100 hydrocodone tablets to MDEA agents in Brewer on March 20, the agency indicated Tuesday in a press release. Agents also had purchased the same type of painkiller tablets from Walker in the months preceding her arrest, the press release indicated.

Police say that when they arrested Walker, she had 67 more tablets and $1,900 in alleged drug sale proceeds in her possession. The value of the drugs police seized from Walker during their investigation was more than $1,500, they said.

Walker, who since has been released on bail from Penobscot County Jail, is expected to make her first appearance in Penobscot County Superior Court in Bangor on May 9, according to police. If convicted, she faces up to five years in prison.

In a separate MDEA investigation, a Bar Harbor man has been charged with unlawful trafficking in drugs after allegedly selling cocaine.

Aaron Higgins, 23, was arrested March 13, according to the agency. The investigation of Higgins included the alleged purchase of cocaine from him in the weeks leading up to his arrest, the statement indicated.

He is scheduled to appear in Hancock County Superior Court in Ellsworth on July 25. If convicted, he could spend up to 10 years in prison, according to the agency.
